How to Resize a Signature in KB
To resize a signature in KB, upload a photo or scan of it above — the signature crop and a 10–20 KB range are already set — then drag the crop box over the signature and download. The result is a clean JPG between 10 KB and 20 KB, the size most online forms ask for.
- Upload a photo or scan of your signature on white paper.
- Adjust the crop box: drag it over the signature and use Crop size to fit it snugly, leaving a little white margin.
- Check the size rule: keep 10–20 KB, or switch to Max size and pick 10 KB or 20 KB if the form gives a single limit.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the form.
How to Take a Good Signature Photo
The quality of the final file depends far more on the original photo than on compression. A few minutes of preparation gives crisp lines at 10 KB:
- Plain white paper, no lines or grid — ruled paper adds noise and wastes kilobytes.
- Dark pen: black or dark blue gel or felt pen. Thin, light ball-point lines can fade after compression.
- Sign a little larger than usual so the strokes stay clear when the image is reduced.
- Daylight, no shadow: stand near a window and hold the phone directly above the paper, parallel to it.
- Fill the frame with the signature and some white margin; you can fine-tune with the crop box.
- Use the original photo, not one forwarded through a messaging app.
Common Signature Size Requirements
Requirements vary between forms, so always follow the instructions you are given. These are the rules seen most often:
| Requirement | How to set it here |
|---|---|
| 10 KB to 20 KB | Range, minimum 10, maximum 20 (default on this page) |
| Maximum 10 KB | Max size, 10 KB |
| Maximum 20 KB | Max size, 20 KB |
| 140 × 60 pixels | Optional dimensions: width 140, height 60, unit px |
| 3.5 × 1.5 cm | Signature crop, or unit cm with 3.5 × 1.5 and DPI 200 (276 × 118 px) |
| "140 × 60 px, up to 40 KB" | Width 140, height 60, Max size 40 KB |
A 140 × 60 px signature is so small that it is usually only 2–5 KB even at high quality. If the form also requires a minimum such as 10 KB, the tool raises the quality first; at fixed pixel dimensions it may not be able to reach a high minimum, in which case check whether the dimensions are really required.
Signature Resize in Pixels and KB
When a form gives both pixels and KB — for example "140 × 60 px and 10–20 KB" — enter the pixels in Optional dimensions and keep Keep proportions on. The crop box changes to that exact shape, so the signature is trimmed to fit instead of being squashed. The KB limit is then met by adjusting quality only.
For centimetre rules, set the unit to cm. At 200 DPI, 3.5 × 1.5 cm becomes 276 × 118 pixels; at 300 DPI, 413 × 177 pixels.
JPG or PNG for a Signature?
Most forms ask for JPG/JPEG, and it works well: a signature is mostly white space, so even a small JPG keeps the lines sharp. PNG can look slightly crisper for pure black-on-white drawings and is fine when the form accepts it, but a PNG signature is often larger and some portals reject PNG. When in doubt, use JPG.
Signature Looks Faint or Blurry? Fixes
- Faint lines: re-sign with a darker, thicker pen and photograph again in good light.
- Grey background: shadows or evening light make the paper grey. Use daylight and avoid covering the paper with your phone's shadow.
- Blurry edges: hold the phone steady, tap to focus on the signature, and avoid zooming in digitally.
- Too small in the box: reduce the crop size so the signature fills most of the frame.
- Rejected for format: make sure you downloaded a JPG.
Resize Signature in KB: Phone and PC Steps
To resize signature in KB, you need a clear image of the signature and the size rule from your form. Then:
On a phone
- Sign on plain white paper and take a photo from directly above in daylight.
- Open this page — the Signature crop and the 10–20 KB range are already selected.
- Tap Select photos and pick the signature photo.
- Drag the crop box so it surrounds the ink with a thin white margin.
- Check the result line (for example "17.6 KB · 520 × 223 px") and tap Download.
On a laptop or PC
- Transfer the signature photo from your phone (email, cable or cloud), or scan it.
- Drag it onto the upload box, adjust the crop and download.
The signature is processed in your browser and is never uploaded — important for something as personal as your signature.
Signature Resize in KB to 20KB and Other Limits
For a signature resize in KB to 20KB — or any other limit — choose the mode that matches the wording:
| Rule | Mode | Typical result |
|---|---|---|
| "Maximum 20 KB" | Max size 20 | About 15–20 KB, often at full scanned width |
| "10 KB to 20 KB" | Range 10–20 | About 18–20 KB — top of the range for crisp lines |
| "Maximum 10 KB" | Max size 10 | About 9–10 KB, roughly 600 px wide |
| "Maximum 30 KB" or "50 KB" | Max size 30 / 50 | Usually full resolution with room to spare |
| "4 KB to 30 KB" | Range 4–30 | Near 30 KB |
Resize Signature in 10 KB
Ten kilobytes is plenty for a signature. Because a signature is mostly white paper, a 10 KB JPG typically keeps it about 600 pixels wide — sharper than most forms will ever display it. To resize signature in 10 KB:
- Choose Max size and tap 10 KB (or type 10 into Custom size).
- Keep the Signature crop and position the box tightly around the ink.
- Download. If the form counts 1,000 bytes per KB and rejects 9.9 KB, set 9 KB.
If the form says "up to 10 KB" and also gives pixel dimensions, enter them — a signature at 140 × 60 or 276 × 118 px is far below 10 KB.
Signature Resize 140 × 60 Pixels
140 × 60 pixels is one of the most common signature sizes on application forms. For a signature resize 140 × 60:
- Under the photo, open Optional dimensions and enter width 140, height 60, unit px.
- The crop box changes to the same 7:3 shape. Drag it over the signature so the ink fills most of it.
- Choose the size rule: Max size if there is only a maximum, Range if there is also a minimum.
- Download — the file is exactly 140 × 60 pixels.
A 140 × 60 px signature is very small: usually 2–5 KB even at top quality. If the form demands both 140 × 60 px and at least 10 KB, the two rules conflict. Re-read the instructions — often the pixels are a recommendation and only the KB is checked, or vice versa. When both are truly required, the tool raises quality to the maximum and reports the closest size it can achieve.
Signature Resize in Pixel and KB Together
A signature resize in pixel and KB means satisfying two rules at once: exact dimensions and a size limit. Common combinations:
| Requirement | Dimensions | Size setting | Expected size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB | 140 × 60 px | Range 10–20 | 2–5 KB at best — conflict; check the form |
| 140 × 60 px, max 40 KB | 140 × 60 px | Max 40 | 2–5 KB, passes |
| 3.5 × 1.5 cm, 10–20 KB | cm, 200 DPI (276 × 118 px) | Range 10–20 | about 5–10 KB at top quality |
| 3.5 × 1.5 cm at 300 DPI | 413 × 177 px | Max 20 | about 8–15 KB |
| 350 × 150 px, 10–20 KB | 350 × 150 px | Range 10–20 | usually reaches 10 KB at high quality |
The general rule: the more pixels, the easier it is to reach a minimum KB. If the minimum cannot be reached at the required pixels, use slightly larger pixels if the form allows a range of dimensions.
Signature Resize in KB JPG: Saving the Right Format
Almost every form wants a signature resize in KB as JPG (also written JPEG). The tool saves JPG by default:
- A photo of a signature (JPG or HEIC) → resized JPG.
- A PNG signature, even with a transparent background → JPG with a white background.
- A scanned BMP or TIFF exported as PNG → JPG.
The download is a genuine JPG named like signature-20kb.jpg. Do not rename a PNG to ".jpg" — some portals read the real format inside the file and reject it.
Photo and Signature Resize in KB for the Same Form
Most applications need a photo and a signature, each with its own limit — for example a photo of 20–50 KB and a signature of 10–20 KB. For a photo signature resize in KB:
- Photo first: switch the crop to Passport, set the photo’s rule (e.g. Range 20–50), upload the photo, check and download. The file is named
…-50kb.jpg. - Then the signature: switch the crop back to Signature, set the signature’s rule (e.g. Range 10–20), upload the signature and download.
- Upload carefully: put the photo file in the photo box and the signature file in the signature box. Swapping them is one of the most common reasons for rejection.
If you need the photo in centimetres, see resize photo in cm; for photo size rules, the 20 KB and 50 KB pages have details.
Choosing the Right Pen and Paper
| Choice | Result after resizing |
|---|---|
| Black gel or felt-tip pen | Best — thick, dark, even lines that stay crisp at 10 KB |
| Dark blue gel pen | Very good; accepted where blue ink is required |
| Ball-point pen | Acceptable if pressed firmly; light strokes can fade |
| Pencil | Poor — grey and shiny; often rejected |
| Plain white A4 paper | Best background |
| Ruled or squared notebook paper | Lines show through and cost kilobytes |
| Coloured or recycled paper | Grey or tinted background; reduces contrast |
Check whether your form specifies the ink colour — some require black, others blue.
Cropping a Signature Properly
- Margin: leave a thin white border around the ink — about the height of a small letter. Too tight and strokes get cut; too loose and the signature looks small in the form’s box.
- Straight: if the signature slopes, re-take the photo with the paper turned; the crop box itself does not rotate.
- Nothing else: exclude the pen, fingers, table edge and printed text.
- Shape: the Signature crop uses a wide shape (about 3.5 × 1.5). For unusually tall or long signatures, switch to the Free crop.
Drawn (Digital) Signatures
If you do not have paper handy, you can draw your signature with a finger or stylus in a notes or drawing app, export it as an image (or take a screenshot), and resize it here with the Signature crop. Use a black pen tool on a white page with a medium-thick line. Note that a drawn image of your signature is not the same as a legal "digital signature certificate" used to sign documents electronically; forms that ask for a signature image just need a picture of your usual signature, and many prefer one signed on paper.
Measured Signature Results
| Input | Setting | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Phone photo of a signature, 3 MB | Range 10–20, Signature crop | about 19 KB, several hundred px wide, very crisp |
| Same photo | Max size 10 | about 9.5 KB, about 600 px wide |
| Same photo | 140 × 60 px, Max 20 | about 2–5 KB at top quality |
| Same photo | 3.5 × 1.5 cm at 200 DPI (276 × 118 px) | about 5–10 KB |
| Scanner image, 300 DPI PNG | Range 10–20 | about 18–20 KB JPG, white background clean |
Signatures need far fewer kilobytes than photos for the same sharpness, because white paper costs almost nothing to store.
Scanning a Signature Instead of Photographing It
A flatbed scanner gives the most even background. Recommended settings:
- Resolution: 200–300 DPI. Higher values only create larger files that are reduced anyway.
- Colour mode: colour or greyscale. Avoid pure black-and-white (1-bit) mode, which can make strokes jagged.
- Area: scan just the part of the page with the signature, or crop afterwards here.
- Format: JPG or PNG — both can be uploaded here and resized to a JPG in KB.
A phone photo works just as well when taken in daylight from directly above. Scanner apps that "flatten" pages are also fine.
Signature Sizes in Centimetres
| Size | At 200 DPI | At 300 DPI |
|---|---|---|
| 3.5 × 1.5 cm | 276 × 118 px | 413 × 177 px |
| 4.5 × 2 cm | 354 × 157 px | 531 × 236 px |
| 6 × 2 cm | 472 × 157 px | 709 × 236 px |
| 7 × 3 cm | 551 × 236 px | 827 × 354 px |
To use a centimetre size, open Optional dimensions, set the unit to cm, enter width and height and choose the DPI (200 if the form does not say). The crop box takes the same shape.
Thumb Impressions and Handwritten Declarations
Many forms that ask for a signature also ask for a left thumb impression or a handwritten declaration. Treat them the same way:
- Thumb impression: use a blue or black stamp pad, press firmly once on white paper, photograph in daylight and crop with the Free crop. Ridges stay clear at 10–20 KB.
- Handwritten declaration: write in black ink on white paper in your normal handwriting, photograph flat, crop to the text. A paragraph of text needs more pixels than a signature, so use the largest KB the form allows (often 50–100 KB).
Each file has its own limit, so read the rule for each before resizing.
Signatures in Hindi or Other Scripts
Signatures in Devanagari or any other script resize exactly like English ones. Scripts with a headline (shirorekha) or fine curves benefit from a slightly thicker pen so the strokes stay distinct at 10 KB. Whatever script you use, sign the same way as on your other documents — reviewers may compare the uploaded signature with the one you sign later.
What Reviewers Look for in a Signature Image
- Clear, dark strokes on a plain light background.
- The whole signature visible, not cut off at the edges.
- Upright orientation — not sideways or upside down.
- Your own signature in your usual style, not your name typed or written in capitals unless that is how you sign.
- No extra content — no printed text, fingers or pen in the frame.
Troubleshooting Signature Uploads
| Message or problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Signature size should be between 10 KB and 20 KB" | Use Range 10–20 rather than Max size. |
| "File too small" at 140 × 60 px | Too few pixels to reach the minimum. Check whether larger dimensions are allowed. |
| "Invalid dimensions" | Enter the exact width and height in px; keep proportions on so the crop box matches. |
| "Invalid file type" | Download as JPG; do not rename PNG or HEIC. |
| Signature looks grey or blotchy | Re-photograph in daylight without shadows on the paper. |
| Signature appears tiny in the preview box | Crop tighter so the ink fills most of the frame. |
Common Signature Mistakes
- Uploading the signature in the photo box or vice versa.
- Signing on lined notebook paper.
- Using a light ball-point pen or pencil.
- Leaving the pen, fingers or table in the crop.
- Photographing at an angle, which makes the signature slanted and stretched.
- Using a different signature style from your other documents.
- Uploading a screenshot of the preview instead of the downloaded file.
Keeping Your Signature Image Safe
A signature image can be misused if it falls into the wrong hands. This tool never uploads it: processing happens in your browser, and nothing is stored on any server. After using a shared or public computer, delete the signature files from the Downloads folder and empty the recycle bin. Avoid sending your signature image through public groups, and only upload it to the official website of the organisation you are applying to.
Signature Upload Checklist
- Black or dark blue pen on plain white paper.
- Daylight photo from directly above, no shadow.
- Signature crop with a thin white margin.
- Dimensions entered only if the form gives them.
- Size rule matched: Max size or Range.
- Result checked — dark strokes, whole signature visible.
- The
…kb.jpgfile uploaded to the signature box.
Terms Used on This Page
- Signature crop
- A wide crop box (about 3.5 × 1.5) designed for signatures.
- Range
- A minimum and maximum size, such as 10–20 KB.
- DPI
- Dots per inch — converts cm to pixels. 3.5 cm at 200 DPI = 276 px.
- JPG / JPEG
- The image format most forms require; both names mean the same thing.
- Thumb impression
- A fingerprint of the thumb made with a stamp pad, uploaded like a signature.
Three Signature Jobs, Step by Step
1. "Signature: 10–20 KB, JPG"
- Leave the defaults: Signature crop, Range 10–20.
- Upload the signature photo and drag the crop box around the ink.
- Download — usually 18–20 KB with very crisp strokes.
2. "Signature: 3.5 × 1.5 cm, 200 DPI, max 20 KB"
- Open Optional dimensions, set the unit to cm, enter 3.5 and 1.5 and choose 200 DPI.
- Choose Max size 20 KB.
- Position the crop box and download a 276 × 118 px JPG of about 5–10 KB.
3. "Signature: 140 × 60 px, under 40 KB"
- Enter 140 × 60 in px.
- Choose Max size and type 40 in Custom size (or leave 20 — both pass).
- Download a 140 × 60 JPG of about 2–5 KB.
Resizing a Signature With Paint, Preview or a Phone Editor
- Windows Paint: open the photo → Select the signature → Crop → Resize (Ctrl + W) → Pixels, untick "Maintain aspect ratio" only if exact dimensions such as 140 × 60 are required → Save as JPEG. Check the KB in Properties.
- Mac Preview: drag a rectangle around the signature → Tools → Crop → Tools → Adjust Size → File → Export as JPEG and adjust Quality.
- Phone gallery editor: crop to the signature, then open the result here to reach the exact KB — gallery editors rarely let you choose a file size.
Manual tools can crop and set pixels, but they cannot target a KB range. Use them for the crop if you prefer, then finish the size here.
Taking a Signature From an Existing Document
If you only have your signature on a scanned document or a PDF, you can cut it out:
- Open the document on your phone or computer and zoom in on the signature.
- Take a screenshot of the zoomed signature (or export the page as an image).
- Upload the screenshot here, use the Signature crop to cut out just the signature, and resize it to the form’s rule.
Zooming in before taking the screenshot gives more pixels and a sharper result. Only use your own signature, and only for forms you are filling yourself.
Forms That Want Photo and Signature on One Image
A few forms ask for the photo and signature together in a single image, often with the date or name written underneath. The simplest way is on paper: paste a printed photo on white paper, sign below it, write anything else required, photograph the whole sheet in daylight and resize it here with the Free crop to the form’s size rule. Make sure both the face and signature remain clear in the preview — combined images usually need a larger KB limit than either alone.
When a Signature Is Too Small in KB
A tightly cropped signature on white paper can be just 2–4 KB, below minimums like 10 KB. The fixes, in order:
- Use Range mode with the minimum — the tool raises quality and, if needed, pixels.
- Leave dimensions empty unless required; more pixels make the minimum easy to reach.
- Avoid tiny dimensions such as 140 × 60 when the form also has a 10 KB minimum — they conflict.
See the increase image size in KB page for how this works.
Getting a Clean White Background
A grey or yellowish background is the most common signature problem. It comes from the light, not the paper. Fixes:
- Photograph near a window during the day, with light falling across the paper evenly.
- Hold the phone high enough that its shadow does not fall on the paper, then crop in.
- Avoid warm indoor bulbs in the evening, which turn white paper yellow.
- If the background is still grey, use your phone editor’s Brightness or Exposure slider slightly before resizing — stop before the strokes start to fade.
Resizing Signatures for Several People
At a cyber café or when helping family, you can select many signature photos at once. Each is resized to the same rule and you can download them all as a ZIP. Because each signature needs its own crop, check every preview and adjust the crop box where needed before downloading. Rename each file with the person’s name to avoid mix-ups.
Why Signature Limits Are So Small
A signature only needs to show a few dark strokes clearly at a small display size — usually in a box a few centimetres wide on an admit card, ID card or application summary. A 10–20 KB JPG holds that easily. Small limits keep portals fast and storage cheap when they receive very large numbers of applications, and they discourage uploading whole-page photos in the signature box.
What Happens When You Resize a Signature Here
- Open: the image is decoded in your browser; HEIC photos are converted first.
- Straighten: phone rotation is applied so the signature is upright.
- Crop: only the area inside the crop box is kept. Transparent areas become white.
- Size: if you typed dimensions, the image is scaled to exactly those pixels; otherwise the tool chooses the largest size that fits the KB rule at good quality.
- Search: quality and, if needed, pixels are adjusted and each result is measured to the byte until it fits your Max size or Range.
- Clean: camera details and location are removed.
All of this takes a fraction of a second and happens on your device.
Signature vs Photo: Why They Need Different Settings
| Signature | Photo | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical limit | 10–20 KB | 20–50 KB |
| Crop | Signature (wide) | Passport (3.5 × 4.5) |
| Pixels at 20 KB | Often full scanned width | About 450–900 px |
| Main quality factor | Dark pen, white paper | Light and background |
| Common size problem | Too small (below minimum) | Too large (above maximum) |
Because the problems are opposite, always switch crop and size rule when moving between the photo and the signature.
Works on Any Phone, Tablet or Computer
The signature resizer runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet — on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Chromebook. No app, no account and no watermark. Once the page has loaded, it works even without internet, which helps when filling forms in places with a weak connection.
Signature Resize in One Minute
- Sign: black gel pen, plain white paper.
- Photograph: daylight, phone parallel to the paper.
- Resize: Signature crop, the form’s rule (10–20 KB by default).
- Check: dark strokes, nothing cut off.
- Upload: the downloaded JPG to the signature box.
Typical Signature Rules by Type of Form
| Type of form | Common rule | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| Job and recruitment applications | 10–20 KB, JPG; sometimes 140 × 60 px or 3.5 × 1.5 cm | Range 10–20 (add dimensions if given) |
| College and university admissions | Up to 20–50 KB | Max size with the stated limit |
| Scholarship portals | Up to 20 KB or 50 KB | Max size |
| Online account or profile forms | Up to 100 KB or more | Max size; signature keeps full resolution |
These are typical patterns, not rules for any particular portal — always follow the instructions on the form you are filling. For exam-specific sizes, check the official notification.
Signing Inside a Box on Paper
Some instructions ask you to sign inside a drawn box, for example 3.5 × 1.5 cm, and upload that. Draw the box lightly in pencil or use a printed template, sign inside it in black ink, photograph it, then crop to the inside of the box so the border is not included (unless the form wants the box visible). Set the matching cm size and DPI so the upload has the right proportions.
Tips for Long or Tall Signatures
Very long signatures — a full name written out — may not fit the standard Signature crop’s proportions without leaving lots of empty space above and below. Switch to the Free crop and draw the box around the whole signature; the result keeps its natural shape. If the form requires fixed dimensions such as 140 × 60, the signature is scaled to fit inside them, so write it a little more compactly on paper to keep the strokes large. Tall signatures with big loops work the same way: give them room in the crop rather than cutting off the loops.
Keep Your Signature Consistent
The uploaded signature may be compared with the one you sign at a later stage — on an attendance sheet, a joining form or a verification document. Sign the way you normally do on official documents, in the same language and style, and keep a copy of the exact file you uploaded so you can re-use it for related forms. Avoid tidying up or redrawing the signature for the upload; a natural signature is easier to match.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I resize my signature to 10–20 KB?
Upload a photo of your signature on this page — the signature crop and the 10–20 KB range are already set — adjust the crop box over the signature and download the JPG.
How do I resize a signature to 140 × 60 pixels?
Enter 140 as width and 60 as height in Optional dimensions (unit px) with Keep proportions on, position the crop box and download. The KB limit is met by adjusting quality.
How do I resize a signature to 10 KB?
Switch to Max size and choose 10 KB. Signatures on white paper compress very well, so the lines stay clear even at 10 KB.
Why is my signature only 3 KB? The form needs at least 10 KB.
Small signatures at small pixel sizes are naturally tiny files. Use the 10–20 KB range: the tool raises quality and, if no exact pixels are required, enlarges the signature slightly to reach 10 KB.
What is the signature size in cm for most forms?
3.5 × 1.5 cm is common. At 200 DPI that is 276 × 118 pixels. Always check the form’s instructions.
Can I resize a signature on my phone?
Yes. Take a photo of the signature, open this page in your phone browser, upload the photo, adjust the crop and download.
Should I save my signature as JPG or PNG?
Use JPG unless the form asks for PNG. JPG is accepted almost everywhere and keeps signatures sharp at small sizes.
Is my signature uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser; the signature image never leaves your device.
How do I resize my signature in KB?
Photograph the signature on white paper, upload it here with the Signature crop, choose the form’s rule (such as 10–20 KB) and download the JPG.
How do I resize a photo and signature in KB for the same form?
Do them one after the other: the photo with the Passport crop and its rule, then the signature with the Signature crop and its rule. Upload each file to the right box.
How do I resize a signature in KB to 20 KB?
Choose Max size 20 KB (or Range 10–20 if there is a minimum), keep the Signature crop and download.
Can a signature be resized to 140 × 60 and 10 KB?
Only with difficulty: 140 × 60 px usually makes 2–5 KB at top quality. Check whether the form really requires both; if so, the tool gets as close as possible.
Is a signature resized as JPG accepted everywhere?
JPG is the most widely accepted format. The tool saves a real JPG; avoid renaming PNG files.
Which pen is best for a signature upload?
A black or dark blue gel or felt-tip pen on plain white paper. Avoid pencil and ruled paper.
Can I draw my signature on my phone and resize it?
Yes. Draw it in a notes app with a black pen on white, export or screenshot it, and resize it with the Signature crop.
How wide is a signature at 10 KB?
Typically about 600 pixels, which is sharper than most forms display.
What DPI should I scan a signature at?
200–300 DPI in colour or greyscale. Avoid 1-bit black-and-white mode, which makes strokes jagged.
What is 3.5 × 1.5 cm in pixels?
276 × 118 px at 200 DPI, or 413 × 177 px at 300 DPI.
How do I resize a thumb impression?
Photograph it on white paper in daylight, use the Free crop around it and choose the form’s size rule, usually 10–20 KB.
Can I upload a signature in Hindi?
Yes, if it is how you normally sign. Use a slightly thicker pen so fine strokes stay clear at small sizes.
Why does the form say my signature is too small?
Either the KB is below the minimum (use Range) or the pixel dimensions are too small to reach it (use larger dimensions if allowed).
Is it safe to resize my signature online?
Here, yes — nothing is uploaded. Delete signature files from shared computers after use and only upload them to official websites.
Can I use the same signature file for several forms?
Yes, if the size and dimension rules match. Otherwise, resize the original again for each form’s rule.
Should my signature be in blue or black ink?
Follow the form’s instructions. If none are given, black is the safest and gives the strongest contrast.
How do I resize a signature to 3.5 × 1.5 cm?
Set the unit to cm, enter 3.5 and 1.5, choose 200 DPI (or the form’s DPI) and the size rule. The result is 276 × 118 px at 200 DPI.
Can I resize a signature in Paint?
You can crop and set pixels in Paint, but not target a KB size. Finish the size here, or check the KB in Properties and retry.
How do I take my signature from a PDF?
Zoom in on the signature, take a screenshot and upload it here with the Signature crop. Resize to the form’s rule.
How do I put my photo and signature in one image?
Paste a printed photo on white paper, sign below it, photograph the sheet and resize it with the Free crop to the form’s limit.
Why is my signature background grey?
Poor or warm light. Photograph in daylight near a window without your shadow on the paper.
Why are signature size limits so small?
A signature only needs a few clear strokes at a small display size, and small files keep portals fast.
How long does it take to resize a signature?
Usually under a second, on your own device.
Does a transparent PNG signature work?
Yes. Transparent areas are filled with white when saving as JPG, which is what forms expect.
Do I need an app to resize my signature?
No. The page works in any phone or computer browser with nothing to install.
Why does my photo need more KB than my signature?
A photo is full of detail, while a signature is mostly white paper that costs almost nothing to store.
Can I resize a signature to 50 KB?
Yes — choose Max size 50 KB. Most signatures are already well under 50 KB at full resolution, so the result is usually smaller.
What signature size do job application forms usually need?
Commonly 10–20 KB as a JPG, sometimes with 140 × 60 px or 3.5 × 1.5 cm. Always follow the form’s own instructions.
Should I include the box border around my signature?
Only if the form asks for it. Otherwise crop to the inside of the box so only the signature is visible.
Will my uploaded signature be compared later?
It may be. Sign in your usual style and keep the uploaded file for related forms.
What if my signature is very long?
Use the Free crop so the whole signature fits in its natural shape. For fixed dimensions, sign a little more compactly.
Can I resize a signature photographed at night?
Yes, but evening light makes paper grey or yellow. A daylight photo gives a much cleaner result.
Will the signature be blurry at 10 KB?
No. At 10 KB a signature is typically about 600 px wide, which is sharp at any size a form displays it.
Can I resize a signature on a shared computer safely?
Yes — nothing is uploaded. Delete the downloaded file and empty the recycle bin when you finish.
Does the signature crop work for initials?
Yes. For short initials, use the Free crop so the box fits closely around them.

Yes. Blue ink is kept as it is; just make sure it is dark enough and photographed in daylight.
Can I resize a signature to exactly 20 KB?
The result lands just under 20 KB — usually 19–20 KB — because portals reject files even slightly over the limit.
Can I resize a signature for an online bank or KYC form?
Yes, if it asks for a signature image. Follow the form’s size rule and upload only on the official site.
