How to Increase Image Size in KB
To increase image size in KB, upload the photo above — Increase mode and 50 KB are already selected — and download the result. The tool raises the JPEG quality first and, only if that is not enough, enlarges the photo until the file is close to your target (92–100% of it), never above it.
- Upload the photo that is too small in KB — a 6 KB scan, a compressed WhatsApp image or a tiny screenshot.
- Choose the target size: tap 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB, or type any number into Custom size.
- Download. The result line tells you the new size and whether the photo had to be enlarged.
If your form gives both a minimum and a maximum — for example "between 20 KB and 50 KB" — use Range mode instead. It increases small photos to the minimum and reduces large ones to the maximum in one step.
Why Would You Need to Increase Photo Size in KB?
Most people need to reduce photo size, but upload portals also reject files that are too small. Typical reasons:
- A minimum size rule — forms often say "minimum 10 KB" or "between 20 KB and 50 KB" to make sure the photo is not a low-quality thumbnail.
- Photos sent through chat apps are heavily compressed and can end up at 5–15 KB.
- Small scans and screenshots of signatures or documents are often only a few KB.
- Old photos saved at low resolution years ago.
In each case the photo itself may look fine, but the file is too small to pass the check. A photo size increaser fixes the file size without changing what is in the picture.
How the Image Size Increaser Works
File size in KB grows with two things: JPEG quality and pixel dimensions. The increaser uses them in that order:
- Higher quality first. Re-saving at up to 100% JPEG quality adds kilobytes without changing the image's dimensions. For many small photos this alone is enough.
- Then slightly larger dimensions. If maximum quality is still below the target, the photo is enlarged step by step until the file lands between 92% and 100% of the size you chose.
Be aware that increasing KB does not add real detail: an enlarged photo can look a little softer. Start from the best original you have — a fresh scan or the original camera photo — rather than a forwarded copy.
Increase Photo Size to 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB
Increase photo size from 10 KB to 20 KB
Common for signatures and small ID photos. A 10 KB JPG usually reaches 20 KB with higher quality alone, so the dimensions often stay the same.
Increase photo size to 50 KB
For application photos that must be "at least 50 KB" or "close to 50 KB". Small photos are usually enlarged to around 1,000–1,900 pixels wide, depending on how plain the photo is.
Increase photo size to 100 KB
For document uploads with a 100 KB minimum. Scanned pages with lots of white space need more enlargement to reach 100 KB than colourful photos do.
Increase Image Size in KB Without Changing Dimensions
If the form requires exact dimensions — for example 200 × 230 pixels — type them into Optional dimensions. The tool then keeps those dimensions and only raises the quality. A small photo at fixed dimensions can only grow so much: a 200 × 230 px JPG is usually only about 5–30 KB even at maximum quality, depending on how detailed it is. If you still fall short, check whether the form really requires those exact pixels; if not, leave the dimensions empty so the photo can be enlarged.
Image Size Increaser: KB vs Pixels
"Increase image size" can mean two different things:
- Increase the file size in KB — what this page does, for forms with a minimum KB.
- Increase the dimensions in pixels — make the picture itself bigger, for example from 400 × 300 to 1200 × 900. Type the new width (or width and height) into Optional dimensions and choose a KB size large enough for it.
Either way, enlarging cannot recover detail that was never captured. For printing or zooming in, a higher-resolution original is always better than an enlarged copy.
Increase Mode or Range Mode?
| The form says… | Use | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| "Minimum 50 KB" or "about 50 KB" | Increase, 50 KB | Result between 46 and 50 KB |
| "Between 20 KB and 50 KB" | Range 20–50 | Small photos increased to ≥ 20 KB, large ones reduced to ≤ 50 KB |
| "Maximum 50 KB" | Max size, 50 KB | Reduced to ≤ 50 KB; small photos stay small |
Image Size Increaser in KB on Your Phone or PC
This image size increaser in KB works the same on every device, with nothing to install:
Android or iPhone
- Open this page in Chrome or Safari. Increase mode is already selected.
- Tap the target — 20, 50 or 100 KB — or type the exact KB the form asks for in Custom size.
- Tap Select photos and pick the small photo from your gallery or files.
- Read the result line: it shows the new size, the pixel dimensions and whether the photo had to be enlarged.
- Tap Download. The file is saved to Downloads (Files → Downloads on iPhone).
Laptop or PC
- Set the target size first.
- Drag the file onto the upload box or paste it with Ctrl + V.
- Download the result and upload it to the form from your Downloads folder.
The whole process usually takes less than a second, and the photo never leaves your device.
Measured Examples: Increasing KB
| Starting file | Target | What the tool did |
|---|---|---|
| Signature scan, 4 KB, 300 × 120 px | 10 KB | Raised quality and enlarged moderately; signature strokes stay smooth |
| Passport-style photo, 9 KB, 200 × 230 px | 20 KB | Raised quality; slight enlargement only if the photo is very plain |
| WhatsApp photo, 14 KB | 50 KB | Raised quality and enlarged to roughly 1,000–1,900 px wide |
| Document scan, 35 KB, mostly white | 100 KB | Enlarged significantly — white paper needs many pixels to reach 100 KB |
| Photo already 60 KB | 50 KB | Reduced to just under 50 KB instead (Increase never goes above the target) |
Results land between 92% and 100% of the target. The exact pixel sizes depend on how much detail the photo contains: busy, colourful photos reach a KB target with fewer pixels than plain ones.
How Much KB Does Higher Quality Add?
JPEG quality has a strong effect on file size, especially at the top of the scale. Approximate sizes for the same 600 × 800 px photo:
| JPEG quality | Relative size |
|---|---|
| 60% | about 0.7× |
| 80% | 1× (reference) |
| 90% | about 1.5× |
| 95% | about 2× |
| 100% | about 3–4× |
That is why a photo saved at a low quality — like most chat-app images — can often double or triple in KB just by being re-saved at high quality, with no change to its dimensions. Only when that is not enough does the increaser enlarge the image.
Increase KB Without Losing Quality
Increasing file size never makes a photo worse when done properly, because the tool starts from the decoded image and re-saves it at a higher quality setting. Two points to keep in mind:
- No new detail appears. A 9 KB photo raised to 50 KB looks the same as before on screen — it is simply stored with less compression and, if needed, more pixels.
- Enlargement can soften slightly. When pixels are added, they are calculated from their neighbours. At moderate enlargements this is invisible; at three or four times the size, edges look a little smoother.
If the form only needs a minimum KB, the cleanest result is a re-save at high quality with modest enlargement — exactly what Increase mode aims for.
Does Changing DPI Increase KB?
No. DPI (dots per inch) is a label stored in the file that tells printers how large to print it. Changing it from 72 to 300 does not change a single pixel, so the file size stays almost exactly the same. To increase KB you must change the pixel dimensions or the compression quality. If a form asks for a specific DPI and a minimum KB, set the dimensions in centimetres with the right DPI on our resize in cm page, then use Increase or Range to meet the KB rule.
Avoid "Padding" Tricks
Some tools increase file size by adding hidden junk data, extra metadata or invisible layers to the file. The KB number goes up, but:
- Some portals strip metadata after upload and then re-check the size — the file may fail or look suspicious.
- Unusual files can be flagged as corrupt or rejected by stricter image checks.
- Hidden data can include information you did not mean to share.
This tool only uses genuine image data: real JPEG quality and real pixels. The downloaded file is a normal, clean JPG with location data removed.
Increasing the Size of a Signature
Signatures are the most common files that are too small. A signature on white paper compresses so well that a scan or crop may be only 2–5 KB, while forms often require 10–20 KB. To fix it:
- Choose Range and enter the form’s minimum and maximum (for example 10 and 20).
- Use the Signature crop to remove extra paper around the ink.
- Download — the strokes stay smooth and the file is inside the range.
A signature cut to 140 × 60 pixels is typically only 2–5 KB. If the form requires both these dimensions and a 10 KB minimum, quality alone may not be enough; check whether the dimensions are mandatory. See the signature resize page for more.
Increasing KB for Scanned Documents
Documents behave differently from photos: large white areas compress to almost nothing. A scan might be only 30–40 KB even though the form requires at least 100 KB. The increaser enlarges such pages more than it would a photo. Before increasing:
- Make sure the page is cropped to its edges — but do not remove white margins that belong to the document.
- Keep colour if the document has seals, signatures or photos.
- Check that the text is sharp in the original. Increasing KB will not sharpen blurry text; a rescan at 150–200 DPI will.
Common Minimum–Maximum Rules
| Rule | Typical use | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| 10–20 KB | Signatures, thumb impressions | Range 10–20 |
| 20–50 KB | Photos | Range 20–50 |
| 50–100 KB | Photos, ID cards | Range 50–100 |
| 100–200 KB | Documents | Range 100–200 |
| "At least 30 KB" | Various | Increase to the form’s maximum, or 30–50 if no maximum |
Increasing KB vs AI Upscaling
AI "upscaler" apps invent new detail to make a small image look sharper at a larger size. They can be impressive for old family photos, but they are not a good fit for official uploads:
- Generated detail can subtly change facial features — a problem for identity photos.
- Upscaled photos can look artificial and may be rejected as edited.
- Most upscalers upload your photo to a server.
For a form that just needs a bigger file, a clean re-save at higher quality is the honest, safe option. If you need a genuinely sharper photo, take a new one.
When to Retake the Photo Instead
Increasing KB solves a size rule, not a quality problem. Take a new photo if:
- The face or text is visibly blurry or pixelated at normal size.
- The original is a tiny thumbnail, such as 100 × 120 pixels.
- The photo was screenshotted from a chat or another app.
- It is very dark, has heavy shadows or the background is not what the form asks for.
A fresh photo taken in daylight against a plain wall, then resized to the form’s range, always looks better than an enlarged old copy.
Increasing KB With Other Software
- Windows Paint: Resize (Ctrl + W) to a larger pixel size and save as JPEG. Paint has no quality setting, so results vary and may overshoot the maximum.
- Windows Photos: Resize image → custom size with a higher quality slider.
- Mac Preview: File → Export → JPEG and move Quality towards "Best"; Tools → Adjust Size for more pixels.
- Photoshop / GIMP: Export at quality 90–100 and, if needed, increase Image Size.
All of these need checking the size afterwards and trying again. Increase mode here aims directly at the target and never goes over it.
Troubleshooting Increase Mode
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Result is below the target | Fixed dimensions limit how much KB is possible. Clear them if the form allows. |
| Result is too large for the form’s maximum | Use Range with both numbers instead of Increase. |
| Photo looks softer | It was enlarged a lot. Start from a better original or choose a lower target if allowed. |
| Still rejected as too small | The portal may count 1,000 bytes per KB. Set the target 1–2 KB higher than the minimum. |
| Rejected as wrong format | Download as JPG; do not rename PNG or HEIC files. |
| Upload works but photo displays tiny | That is the form’s display size; the file itself is fine. |
What Is a "KB Photo"?
People often say "KB photo" to mean a photo small enough for an online form — usually 10 to 200 KB — as opposed to the multi-MB originals phones produce. Most of the time the task is to reduce a photo to a KB size, which our photo resizer in KB does. Increase mode handles the opposite case, when the photo is already a KB photo but too small to meet the minimum.
Increasing Several Photos at Once
Select multiple files and each one is increased to the same target. When they are ready, download them individually or as a single ZIP. This is handy when a form needs a photo, a signature and a thumb impression that are all under the minimum — though remember that they usually have different limits, so check each one.
Checklist: Increasing a Photo’s KB
- Read the rule: minimum only, or minimum and maximum?
- Minimum only → Increase mode with the target. Both → Range mode.
- Leave dimensions empty unless the form requires exact pixels.
- Crop away anything that does not belong in the photo.
- Check the result: size within the rule, face or text clear.
- Download and upload the new file.
Terms Used on This Page
- Increase mode
- Aims for a file between 92% and 100% of the target, raising quality first, then pixels.
- Range mode
- Keeps the file between a minimum and a maximum, increasing or reducing as needed.
- JPEG quality
- The amount of compression; higher quality means larger files.
- Upscaling
- Making an image larger in pixels. Simple upscaling cannot add detail.
- DPI
- A print-size label. Changing it does not change the file size.
Reading the Form’s Size Rule Correctly
Forms phrase size rules in many ways, and the right mode depends on the wording:
| Wording on the form | Meaning | Mode |
|---|---|---|
| "Size should be between 20 KB and 50 KB" | Both a minimum and a maximum | Range 20–50 |
| "Not less than 10 KB" | Minimum only | Increase to a safe target such as 15–20 KB |
| "File size: 50 KB" (no other words) | Usually a maximum; sometimes "about" | Max size 50; if rejected, Range 40–50 |
| "Approximately 100 KB" | Close to 100 KB | Increase to 100 |
| "Max 200 KB, min 4 KB" | A wide range | Range 4–200 (or simply Max size 200) |
When the wording is unclear, Range mode with the form’s numbers is the safest choice — it satisfies either reading.
Why Portals Set a Minimum KB
From the portal’s side, a minimum size is a cheap automatic quality check. A photo of 3 KB is almost always a thumbnail, a screenshot of a small preview or a heavily compressed copy — too low in detail to identify a person or read a document. Rather than inspecting each upload by hand, the system rejects files below a threshold. Passing the threshold with a clean, high-quality re-save satisfies the rule, but the spirit of the rule is a clear photo: start from the best original you have.
Increasing to Common Targets
From under 10 KB to 10–20 KB
Signatures and thumb impressions. Usually reached with higher quality and a small enlargement; strokes remain crisp.
From 10–20 KB to 50 KB
Typical for passport-style photos received through chat apps. Quality is raised to the top of the scale and the photo enlarged to roughly 1,000–1,900 px wide.
From 50 KB to 100 KB
Usually needs mostly higher quality and moderate enlargement. Photos keep their look; documents gain resolution for readable text.
From 100 KB to 200 KB or more
For larger document limits. White-heavy scans are enlarged significantly; colour photos need less. For anything above 500 KB, an original camera photo is usually already large enough without increasing.
How Much Will My Photo Be Enlarged?
File size grows roughly in proportion to the number of pixels. Doubling width and height gives four times the pixels and, at the same quality, roughly three to four times the KB. As a rough guide when quality is already at the top:
| Size increase needed | Approximate enlargement (each side) | Visible softening? |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 2× | Often none — quality alone is enough | No |
| 2–4× | About 1.2–1.6× | Barely |
| 4–10× | About 1.6–2.5× | Slight, on close inspection |
| More than 10× | 2.5× or more | Noticeable — consider a better original |
Increasing KB for PNG, HEIC and WebP Files
All formats can be used as input. The result is saved as JPG by default, because almost every form accepts it. Converting a PNG to PNG at a larger size is possible, but PNG sizes jump in large steps and are hard to land precisely within a range, so JPG is the better choice unless the form insists on PNG. HEIC photos from iPhones are converted to JPG automatically, which also solves the common "unsupported format" error.
Can I Get Exactly 50 KB?
Hitting an exact byte count is not possible with real image data — each quality step or pixel change moves the size by hundreds of bytes. Increase mode therefore aims for a result between 92% and 100% of the target, for example 46–50 KB for a 50 KB target. Forms that say "50 KB" accept anything at or under the limit, and forms with a minimum accept anything above it, so this window satisfies both.
Increasing Size for Printing
If a photo must be printed — for example at 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI — what matters is the pixel count (413 × 531 px), not the KB. Use the cm resizer to set the print size and DPI. If the original has fewer pixels than needed, enlarging it lets the printer print at the right size, but it cannot add sharpness; prints from very small originals look soft.
Minimum Pixel Sizes for Marketplaces and Profiles
Some websites ask for a minimum pixel size rather than KB — product listings often want at least 1,000 pixels on the longest side, and profile pictures may need at least 400 × 400. To meet these, type the width (and height for a square) into Optional dimensions and choose a KB size that is large enough, such as 200 KB. The photo is enlarged to those pixels and saved within the KB limit. Again, a larger original always looks better than an enlarged small one.
Private, Free and Offline
The increaser runs entirely inside your browser. Your photo is never uploaded, there is no sign-up or watermark, and once the page has loaded it works without internet. The downloaded JPG is clean: camera details and GPS location are removed, and only the image itself is stored.
Three Increase Jobs, Step by Step
1. A 7 KB photo for a form needing 20–50 KB
- Choose Range and enter 20 and 50.
- Select the Passport crop if the photo includes more than head and shoulders.
- Upload the photo. It is re-saved at higher quality and enlarged moderately, landing near 50 KB.
- Zoom into the preview to check the face, then download.
2. A 3 KB signature for a 10–20 KB rule
- Choose Range 10–20 and the Signature crop.
- Drag the crop box around the ink with a thin margin of white paper.
- Download — typically a few hundred pixels wide, with smooth strokes.
3. A 40 KB certificate scan for a "minimum 100 KB" upload
- Choose Increase and type 100 in Custom size (or use Range 100 and the form’s maximum).
- Crop to the page edges.
- Upload; the mostly white page is enlarged until it reaches 92–100 KB. Check the text is readable and download.
Photos That Became Too Small on WhatsApp
Chat apps compress photos to save data. A photo that was 3 MB on the sender’s phone can arrive as 50–200 KB, and forwarded or re-shared images shrink further, sometimes to 10–20 KB. If the form needs more:
- Best: ask the sender to share the original as a document rather than a photo, which keeps the full file.
- Good: use Increase or Range here to bring the compressed copy above the minimum.
- Avoid: screenshotting the photo in the chat — that adds the chat interface and loses quality.
Colour, Brightness and Increasing KB
Increase mode never changes colours, brightness or contrast — only quality and pixel count. If the photo is too dark or has a coloured cast, fix it before increasing in your phone’s editor (Brightness or Auto-enhance), then upload the edited photo here. Brighter, cleaner photos also need less enlargement to reach the same KB target, because there is less noise to hide detail.
Choosing Between Max Size, Range and Increase
- Max size — the form gives only a maximum. Large photos are reduced; small ones are left small (never enlarged).
- Range — the form gives a minimum and a maximum. Small photos are increased, large ones reduced, and the result aims high in the range for the best quality.
- Increase — the form gives a minimum or says "about" a size. The result lands just under the target.
If you are unsure, Range covers almost every case: enter the minimum (or 1 if none) and the maximum.
Works on Every Device and Browser
The increaser runs in Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet and other modern browsers on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. There is no app to install and no account. Older or low-memory phones work too; very large originals simply take a moment longer.
What Happens Inside Increase Mode
- Decode: the photo is opened in your browser and turned upright using its rotation information.
- Crop: if you chose a crop, only that area is kept.
- Quality search: the photo is re-encoded at increasing quality levels, each result measured to the byte.
- Pixel search: if even maximum quality is below 92% of the target, the photo is enlarged in steps and the search repeats at each step.
- Pick: the largest result that is still at or below the target is kept.
- Clean: location data and camera details are not copied into the new file.
The search uses a binary method, so even a large enlargement normally takes well under a second.
Common Mistakes When Increasing Photo Size
- Using Max size mode for a minimum rule. Max size never enlarges; choose Increase or Range.
- Setting the target exactly at the minimum. If the form needs "at least 20 KB", aim for 22–25 KB to allow for portals that count 1,000 bytes per KB.
- Typing tiny fixed dimensions. A 140 × 60 px image cannot reach 20 KB at any quality. Leave dimensions empty unless they are required.
- Increasing a screenshot of a photo. It adds borders and interface elements. Crop them away or use the original.
- Uploading the old file. The new file’s name ends with the KB size, such as
-50kb.jpg.
Old, Low-Resolution Photos
Photos saved years ago on early phones or downloaded from old websites are often 320 × 240 or 640 × 480 pixels and only 10–40 KB. They can be increased to meet a minimum, but they will look soft at larger sizes because the detail was never captured. If the photo is for an identity document, a new photo is the better choice. For personal use — a profile picture, a memory shared with family — increasing to 100–200 KB and viewing on a phone is perfectly fine.
Increasing Photo Size at a Glance
| You have | You need | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| 5 KB signature | 10–20 KB | Range 10–20, Signature crop |
| 12 KB photo | 20–50 KB | Range 20–50, Passport crop |
| 30 KB photo | at least 50 KB | Increase, 60 KB (or the form’s maximum) |
| 60 KB scan | 100–200 KB | Range 100–200 |
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I increase image size in KB?
Upload the photo on this page — Increase mode is already selected — choose the target size such as 20 KB or 50 KB, and download. The tool raises quality first and enlarges the photo only if needed.
How do I increase photo size from 10 KB to 20 KB?
Choose Increase and 20 KB, then upload the 10 KB photo. Most 10 KB JPGs reach 20 KB just by being re-saved at higher quality, so the dimensions often stay the same.
Does increasing KB improve photo quality?
No. It makes the file bigger so it passes a minimum-size check, but it cannot add detail that was not in the original. Use the best original you have.
Can I increase image size in KB without changing pixels?
Yes, up to a point. Type the required width and height so they are kept, and the tool raises only the quality. Very small images may not reach a high KB target at fixed dimensions.
What is the difference between Increase and Range mode?
Increase aims close to one target size (92–100% of it). Range keeps the file between a minimum and a maximum, increasing small photos and reducing large ones.
Why does my form reject photos that are too small?
A minimum size helps make sure the photo is not a blurry thumbnail. Increasing the KB size satisfies the rule; for the best result, also start from a clear, well-lit photo.
Can I increase the size of a PNG or HEIC photo?
Yes. Upload PNG, HEIC, WebP, GIF or BMP; the result is saved as JPG by default, which most forms accept.
Is this photo size increaser free and private?
Yes. It is free with no signup, and it runs entirely in your browser — the photo is never uploaded, and location data is removed from the downloaded file.
What is the best image size increaser in KB?
One that raises real quality and pixels — not hidden padding — and never exceeds your maximum. Increase mode on this page does that for free, in your browser.
How do I increase photo size from 5 KB to 50 KB?
Choose Increase and 50 KB, then upload the photo. It is re-saved at higher quality and enlarged until it is between 46 and 50 KB.
How do I increase image size in KB on my phone?
Open this page, keep Increase selected, choose the target KB, pick the photo and tap Download. No app is needed.
Does changing DPI increase file size?
No. DPI is only a print label. To increase KB, the quality or pixel dimensions must change.
Is it safe to increase KB with padding tools?
It is risky. Padding adds hidden data that some portals strip or flag. Real quality and pixel increases produce a clean, normal JPG.
How do I increase a signature from 4 KB to 10 KB?
Use Range 10–20 (or Increase to 10 KB) with the Signature crop. Quality is raised and the image enlarged slightly if needed.
Can I increase the KB of a scanned document?
Yes. White pages need more enlargement to reach a target, which the tool handles automatically. Make sure the original text is sharp.
Why does Increase mode stay below my target?
It always aims between 92% and 100% so it never exceeds a limit. If the form has a separate minimum, use Range mode.
Should I use an AI upscaler to increase photo size?
Not for official photos. AI upscalers invent detail and may change features. A clean re-save at higher quality is safer.
Can I increase KB and keep exact pixel dimensions?
Yes, by typing the dimensions. Only quality is raised then, which limits how large the file can get.
Can I increase the size of several photos at once?
Yes. Select several files; each is increased to the target and you can download them all as a ZIP.
What does "KB photo" mean?
A photo small enough for online forms, usually 10–200 KB, rather than a multi-MB original.
What does "not less than 10 KB" mean?
The file must be at least 10 KB. Use Increase with a target slightly above it, such as 15–20 KB, or Range if there is also a maximum.
Why do forms reject photos below a minimum size?
Very small files are usually low-detail thumbnails or screenshots. The minimum is an automatic quality check.
How much will my photo be enlarged to reach the target?
Often not at all — higher quality alone doubles many files. Bigger increases need enlargement of about 1.2–2.5× per side.
Can I get exactly 50 KB?
Not to the byte. Increase mode lands between 46 and 50 KB for a 50 KB target, which satisfies both maximum and "about" rules.
Can I increase a PNG and keep it PNG?
Yes, but PNG sizes change in large steps. JPG is easier to land in a range and is accepted by almost all forms.
How do I make a photo at least 1,000 pixels wide?
Type 1000 into the width field and choose a KB size large enough, such as 200 KB. The photo is enlarged to that width.
Does the increaser work offline?
Yes. After the page loads, everything runs on your device, so it works without a connection.
Will increasing KB make my photo print better?
No. Print quality depends on the original detail. Enlarging lets a small photo print at the right size but not more sharply.
How do I increase a WhatsApp photo to 50 KB?
Upload it with Increase and 50 KB selected. For better quality, ask the sender to share the original as a document first.
Does increasing KB change colours or brightness?
No. Only quality and pixel count change. Fix brightness in your phone’s editor first if needed.
Which mode should I choose if I am unsure?
Range. Enter the form’s minimum (or 1 if none) and maximum, and the file will satisfy either reading of the rule.
Does Max size mode ever enlarge photos?
No. Max size only reduces large photos; small ones keep their pixel size. Use Increase or Range to enlarge.
Does the increaser work on a Chromebook or iPad?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on any device, with nothing to install.
How long does increasing image size take?
Usually well under a second. The tool searches quality and pixel sizes with a fast binary method on your own device.
Should I set the target exactly at the minimum?
Aim a little above it — for a 20 KB minimum, 22–25 KB — in case the portal counts 1,000 bytes per KB.
Why can my 140 × 60 signature not reach 20 KB?
So few pixels cannot hold 20 KB even at maximum quality. Leave dimensions empty, or check whether the form really needs both rules.
Can I increase an old 640 × 480 photo?
Yes, to meet a minimum KB. It will look soft at larger sizes because the detail was never captured; for ID photos, take a new one.
Why did my increased photo shrink after sending it on WhatsApp?
Chat apps compress photos again. Send the increased file as a document or by email so it keeps its size.
Can I use the increaser without an internet connection?
Yes. Load the page once; after that, increasing photos works offline on your device.
Is there a limit to how much I can increase a photo?
The tool enlarges as far as needed to reach your target, but very large increases from tiny photos look soft. For more than about 10× the original KB, a better original is recommended.
Does the increased photo keep the same name?
The download is named after the original with the KB size added, such as photo-50kb.jpg, so you can tell them apart.
Can I increase the size of a thumb impression?
Yes. Treat it like a signature: use the Signature or Free crop and Range with the form’s minimum and maximum.
Can I increase a photo’s size in KB on a laptop?
Yes. Drag the photo onto the upload box, keep Increase selected, choose the target and download.
Does the increaser add a watermark?
No. The file contains only your image, saved as a normal JPG.
Can I increase the size of a screenshot?
Yes. It is saved as a JPG at the target size; crop away unneeded parts first.
